This finely detailed handcrafted Yixing teapot is modeled in the form of a Lingzhi mushroom, a traditional Chinese symbol of longevity and good fortune. The reddish-brown zisha (purple sand) clay displays remarkable sculptural detail, including raised vines, leaves, berries, and small animal figures—a frog perched atop the lid and a squirrel climbing the handle. Each element is executed with the care typical of late 20th-century Yixing artistry. The teapot bears impressed maker’s marks to the base and retains its original foil label marked “Yixing China.”

Condition: Never used - was in its original packaging from China. Excellent vintage condition with minimal surface wear consistent with age. No visible cracks, or repairs. There is a minor mark inside the rim (see photo) that appears it might have been in the making. The interior is clean and unglazed as expected for Yixing ware.
