About the Ken Edwards Tonalá Plate

Bring the expressive artistry of Mexican Tonalá pottery to your table or display with this striking 10-inch plate attributed to Ken Edwards. A graceful blue bird sits among sweeping green leaves, delicate blue blossoms, and a tall purple floral spray, while a butterfly-like motif floats nearby. The cream-colored ground makes the hand-decorated composition especially vivid.

A bold cobalt-blue band follows the inner edge of the plate, framed by a richly mottled brown and dark glaze at the rim. The gently recessed center and low profile make this an attractive decorative plate for a shelf, cabinet, or plate stand. Its colorful bird-and-botanical design complements other Tonalá pieces without requiring a matching set.

The underside is marked “Mexico” along with stylized initials and a small emblem, photographed in detail. The plate offers the distinctive earthy palette and lively decorative style associated with Ken Edwards pottery. Please examine the photographs for the finish and overall condition.
