Harmony Kingdom Y2HK Millennium Timed Edition Box Figurine TJSEY2K 1999

Y2HK was created by Mark Ricketts for Harmony Kingdom's Millennium collection and released on January 1, 1999 as a Timed Edition. Carved in 1998 and retired on December 31, 1999, the substantial box figurine was produced in an edition of 15,594 pieces and uses a crowded ship and its unlikely passengers to explore the hopes, contradictions, and anxieties surrounding the arrival of the new millennium.

Ricketts packed the ship with an extraordinary number of stories. Two burly seamen argue over who is steering even though the propellers are not in the water, while a puzzled navigator attempts to decipher a blank map held by a bird. A mink has escaped from a fur farm, an extinct dodo watches over her egg, and familiar Harmony Kingdom characters including the vulture from Have a Heart, the wolf from Mutton Chops, the Garden Prince, Mad Murphy, Rocky, Santa, and Tubs the Turtle join the voyage. A lion and zebra dine peacefully together while an Earth Mother at the stern guides the ship toward the future.

The storytelling continues inside. Angels gamble over the outcome of the year 2000 while guarding a silver seed representing nature's genetic future. Elsewhere are references to consumption, pollution, cloning, humanity's relationship with nature, and even the infamous Millennium Bug. Lord Byron creates an ecosystem in the stern, a scientist becomes the unlikely parent of a dinosaur, and Dolly the cloned sheep enjoys a private moment with The Financial Times. The result is a particularly ambitious example of Harmony Kingdom's combination of humor, social commentary, hidden details, and miniature storytelling.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Y2HK. It comes directly from the former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK70.

It is one of 36 examples of TJSEY2K documented in the Archive inventory acquired by AtopTheTables. These pieces remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.
