Harmony Kingdom Topsy Turvy TJEL4 Elephant Treasure Jest Archive England

Peter Calvesbert’s Topsy Turvy TJEL4 captures one of those wonderfully improbable Harmony Kingdom moments in which an elephant manages to trip over a sleeping camper in the African bush.

Peter lies beneath the falling elephant with his teddy bear and cricket bat nearby, while a tortoise makes a determined dash for safety. The signature mouse remains safely tucked beneath the pillow. Around the lid are the words “Ross Lodge Please,” referring to a new home Peter Calvesbert and his wife Andrea hoped to acquire at auction.

Inside the box is a baby elephant.

Carved in 2001 and released in 2002, Topsy Turvy was produced in England in an edition of 5,450 and remained in production until its retirement in April 2009.

Version I

The original Version I of Topsy Turvy features Peter in his sleeping bag beneath the elephant, with the baby elephant inside the box.

A later Infinity Version was also produced in which a tree trunk replaces Peter in the exterior scene.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Topsy Turvy. It comes directly from the former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK134.

Our physical Archive inventory contains 12 examples of TJEL4, all Version I.

These pieces remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.
