Harmony Kingdom Step Aside Scottish Crab TJLCB Archive

Step Aside is an unusually naturalistic early Harmony Kingdom box figurine featuring a single crab. Martin Perry created the form by moulding it from the shell of an actual crab he found in Scotland, giving the piece a direct connection to its real-world subject.

Because it dates from the earliest period of Harmony Kingdom production, Step Aside predates many of the details collectors later came to expect. It does not incorporate a hidden mouse, inscriptions, an interior carving or hallmarks.

Carved in 1990 and released in 1993, the Large Treasure Jest remained in production until 2001. The final edition size was 8,759.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Step Aside. It comes directly from the former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK121.

It is one of 2 examples of TJLCB documented in the Archive inventory acquired by AtopTheTables. These pieces remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.

Condition

The figurine remains in excellent archive-kept condition. No chips or damage are visible. Original packaging may show minor storage or handling wear consistent with its age and years in the Harmony Kingdom Archives.
