Harmony Kingdom Samsara Toad TJFR5 LE 1500 Peter Calvesbert Archive

Samsara is Peter Calvesbert’s deliberately simple study of a single toad, created as a tribute to one of his earliest and most beloved Harmony Kingdom designs, Princely Thoughts. The title comes from the Sanskrit samsarah, referring to the cycle of life, adding a playful philosophical layer to the familiar fairy-tale idea of a toad becoming a prince.

Unlike many of Calvesbert’s Treasure Jests, this piece intentionally contains neither his signature hidden mouse nor secret details. That restraint is part of the design: the uncomplicated toad form looks back to Harmony Kingdom’s earliest years and was intended to evoke nostalgia among longtime collectors.

Carved in 2004 and released January 14, 2005, Samsara was made in England as a Fixed Edition of 1,500 pieces. It reached stores May 5, 2005 as part of the Small Treasure Jest subset.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Samsara. It comes directly from former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK134.

It is one of 3 Archive examples of TJFR5 acquired by AtopTheTables. These pieces remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.
