Harmony Kingdom One Step Ahead Turtle TJLTU Calvesbert Treasure Jest Archive

One Step Ahead, created by Peter Calvesbert, is a Large Treasure Jest whose subject and details place it within Harmony Kingdom's distinctive tradition of narrative box figurines. This early box figurine depicts a lone turtle and comes from the period before Peter Calvesbert regularly incorporated the hidden mouse, inscriptions, inner carving and hallmarks.

Even without those later conventions, Calvesbert's emerging style is visible in the turtle's sly expression, its Mr. T medallion and the fashionable belt cinching the shell in place.

Carved in 1993, One Step Ahead was made in England and released January 1, 1994. It retired September 1, 1999. It is a retired Large Treasure Jest with an edition size of 7,309.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market One Step Ahead. It comes directly from former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK121.

The Archive group includes 3 examples being offered by AtopTheTables. These pieces remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed. One example has its original box and two are unboxed and will not include a box.
