Harmony Kingdom Mini Ebsy Zebra RW05EB Peter Calvesbert Archive

Mini Ebsy is one of Peter Calvesbert’s most personal Harmony Kingdom carvings. Ebsy was a stuffed zebra Peter bought in Suffolk only a few months before his son Sam was born. The toy and child soon became inseparable, with sleep virtually impossible unless Ebsy was close at hand.

Peter recalled the particular parental dread of hearing “I’ve lost Ebsy” in a busy shopping center. Miraculously, the zebra always turned up after frantic retracing of steps, once sitting beside Buzz Lightyear in a Disney store and another time half-hidden among flowers at a garden center. Years of constant companionship left the original Ebsy faded, battered and frequently in need of needle-and-thread repairs, but no less loved.

The family even considered finding a spare, only to discover that an early 1999 Jellycat zebra was difficult to locate and, Peter suspected, Sam would never have accepted an impostor anyway. Peter carved Mini Ebsy as a tribute not only to Sam’s cherished companion, but to the beloved childhood friends that become genuine members of a family. This Royal Watch special offer was exclusive to 2005–2006 two-year members and limited to 1,000 pieces.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Mini Ebsy. It comes directly from the former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK61.
