Harmony Kingdom Gruyere TJDLMI David Lawrence Mouse Archive

David Lawrence gave the mouse in Gruyere the sort of discovery any cheese-loving rodent could dream of: an enormous wedge of Gruyere accompanied by a selection of grapes. The cheese, traditionally associated with regions of Switzerland and France and frequently used for fondue, becomes the mouse's very own mother lode.

Lawrence's signature acorn appears among the exterior details. Inside, the joke turns expectations around with a mousetrap baited with chocolate rather than cheese, while the small “105” identifies Gruyere as the 105th piece Lawrence carved for Harmony Kingdom.

Carved in 2002 and released December 31, 2002, Gruyere was made in England as a Fixed Edition of 5,000 pieces, divided into 2,500 Version One and 2,500 Version Two examples worldwide. It reached stores March 1, 2003 as part of the Small Treasure Jest subset. The Archive check-in record does not designate these examples by version, so no version is claimed in this listing.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Gruyere. It comes directly from former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK55.

It is one of the 10 Archive examples of TJDLMI acquired by AtopTheTables. This piece remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.
