Family Reunion, created by David Lawrence, is a Limited Zookeepers edition whose subject and details place it within Harmony Kingdom's distinctive tradition of narrative box figurines. An expressive family of monkeys is the theme of this box figurine. Inside is the head of Yorick, Hamlet's one-time jester and friend; the head unscrews to reveal a book inscribed “Alas Poor Lucy.”
Color variations on the berries range from red to orange to yellow. Each piece was hand-numbered and bears David Lawrence's monogram. Three of the 10 examples we received are marked Sample on the base of the lid (see photo).
Carved in 1997, Family Reunion was made in England and released June 1, 1998. It was issued as a limited Limited Zookeepers edition with an edition size of 7,200.
