Harmony Kingdom Club Kids Seals TJBB09 Black Box LE 600 Peter Calvesbert Archive

Peter Calvesbert used the 2009 Black Box, Club Kids, to turn the grim practice of seal hunting on its head. Instead of humans conducting the annual cull, the seals have taken possession of the clubs—a darkly comic reversal characteristic of Harmony Kingdom's Black Box series.

The lid names Canada, Russia, Norway, Greenland and Namibia, countries associated with seal hunting, while “Hakapik” identifies the traditional hunting implement and “Nov15 – May15” refers to the Harp Seal hunting season. Inside, Calvesbert carved a harp: a visual pun on Harp Seals and, more somberly, the heaven to which the hunted animals might go.

Carved in 2009 and released June 5, 2009, Club Kids was made in England as a Limited Edition of just 600 pieces. It reached stores August 25, 2009 as part of Harmony Kingdom's Black Box Series.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Club Kids. It comes directly from former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK58.

It is one of the 15 Archive examples of TJBB09 acquired by AtopTheTables. The Archive group includes numbered examples in the 551–591 range. This piece remained in former Harmony Kingdom company storage until the Archive was dispersed.
