Harmony Kingdom Brave Heart Bald Eagle RW03EA Mel Heald Archive

Mel Heald’s Brave Heart is a highly detailed bald eagle box figurine created as a Royal Watch Collector’s Club redemption piece exclusively for 2003 members. Natural-history facts are incorporated directly into the carving, beginning with the bald eagle’s role as a national symbol of the United States.

The piece also tells the species’ conservation story. Harmony Kingdom noted the bald eagle’s endangered status in 1978 and the role of the pesticide DDT in its decline. The slash through the DDT reference marks its ban and the subsequent rebound of eagle and other bird populations. A heart concealed among the feathers represents the fact that bald eagles mate for life, while the interior contains a fish, their favored prey.

Additional inscriptions reward a closer look. “AK” represents Alaska, identified by Harmony Kingdom as home to roughly half of the world’s bald eagles, while “40” refers to 1940, the year the Bald Eagle Protection Act was implemented. Brave Heart was issued in an edition of 1,693.

This example has a documented history that distinguishes it from an ordinary secondary-market Brave Heart. It comes directly from the former Harmony Kingdom Archives inventory dispersed at auction in August 2026 and was acquired by AtopTheTables from Archive Lot HK61.
