Harmony Kingdom Back Scratch II TJCA17 Peter Calvesbert Treasure Jest Archive

Back Scratch II, created by Peter Calvesbert, is a Small Treasure Jest. Peter Calvesbert's bathing cat is a Turkish Van, a breed associated with water. The accompanying legend tells of two white cats aboard Noah's ark whose tails turned fiery auburn after the flood; “Van” is written on the cat's brush.

The mouse cowers beneath the brush. Version One shows a swimming cat trying to catch fish, while Version Two features a mould variation; the official description also calls attention to a figure hiding beneath the cat's tail.

Carved in 2003, Back Scratch II was made in England and released May 28, 2003. It was issued as a fixed edition of 5,000.
