The pairing gives the piece a familial subject that stands apart from many of the individual animal characters found among the earliest Treasure Jests.

Its early date is also evident in what it does not contain. Like many of Calvesbert's earliest pieces, Of The Same Stripe has no hidden mouse, inscriptions, inner carving or hallmarks—the playful secret details that would become increasingly familiar to Harmony Kingdom collectors in later years.

Carved in 1993 and released September 1, 1993, Of The Same Stripe was made in England as a Small Treasure Jest.
