Miraculously, the zebra always turned up after frantic retracing of steps, once sitting beside Buzz Lightyear in a Disney store and another time half-hidden among flowers at a garden center. Years of constant companionship left the original Ebsy faded, battered and frequently in need of needle-and-thread repairs, but no less loved.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe family even considered finding a spare, only to discover that an early \u003cstrong\u003e1999 Jellycat zebra\u003c\/strong\u003e was difficult to locate and, Peter suspected, Sam would never have accepted an impostor anyway. Peter carved \u003cem\u003eMini Ebsy\u003c\/em\u003e as a tribute not only to Sam’s cherished companion, but to the beloved childhood friends that become genuine members of a family.
